Mission & Officers
Mission
The purpose of the Alaska Food Coalition is to strengthen and coordinate public and private food and nutrition assistance programs, and to educate policy makers about Alaskan food needs.
What Are Our Specific Aims?
- Explore other new and innovative ideas to help feed Alaska’s hungry.
- Help build the capacity of Alaskan communities to feed the hungry through our grant program, and our face-to-face meeting of all members once each year.
- As a coalition, work to leverage our valuable state dollars and aggressively pursue funding from outside sources—truly a wise use of limited state resources.
- Expand the membership of the Alaska Food Coalition to better meet Alaska’s hunger problem in communities in every corner of the Great Land.
