Join the AFC - It's Easy!
Associate Membership
This membership is for organizations not directly working in the anti-hunger field, but that have an interest in hunger issues. This includes, but is not limited to, state agencies, transportation companies and other coalition networks. This category of membership does not pay dues and is not eligible for grants or scholarships.
General Membership
This membership is for organizations that provide direct service to hungry people or anti-hunger agencies, including faith-based, 501(c)(3), and tribal organizations.
At the 2005 Annual Member Meeting, Alaska Food Coalition (AFC) members decided to enact a new membership procedure, requiring the general membership to pay a small fee for their membership. This fee is to be determined on a sliding scale, based on an agency's operating budget. If this fee proposes an extreme financial hardship for a private agency, the AFC may be able to excuse their payment of dues. Any agencies in this situation should contact Kerri Burrows, AFC Manager at 907-222-3103.
Agency members are eligible to apply for special equipment/infrastructure grants as may be available, may receive food from the statewide Alaska Food Coalition purchases, and may receive some assistance to travel to the Alaska Food Coalition meetings. Send an email if you would like to join the Alaska Food Coalition or receive more information on the benefits of membership.
